This week's photos of a walk to the lake and back were all taken on November 11th, 2021. But first I would like to share some drawings that I made in the late summer of 1998, and one or maybe two from the summer of 1999, I brought these drawings along on a date with a librarian that I had last week, along with some photos from those two summers, in order to better explain to her how I had become a little bit Polish,
This first drawing is of a bridge that crosses the road from the centre of Oxford to Headington. It is a landmark of sorts on the way to my dad's cousin's house where I would do my best to not out-stay my welcome while in England back in the late 80s and 90s.
This next drawing is of the cathedral in Krakow. An Italian man at the hostel in the convent where I stayed a few nights in September, 1998, gave me a very nice sheet of heavy Italian watercolour paper after looking at some of the drawings I had done that summer. I thought it best to attempt something special on it.
This drawing is of the cabin where I spent my first few nights in Mrzezyno on the Baltic coast after arriving in late June, 1999, for another summer of teaching English as a foreign language to elementary school children at a succession of two week summer camp sessions,
This drawing is of a car, possibly something from the Oxford motor company, which I noticed in Oxford around the same time I did that drawing of the bridge.
Here is my two week schedule from September, 1998.
I never did make it to Copenhagen.
And now those photos from November 11th, 2021.
It was a rather windy day.
